Early Intervention
Starting Services Early
For over 20 years Tamara has specialized in early intervention services for infants and toddlers. Sessions target a range of skills including communication, play, self-care, social skills, and school readiness. On-going training and coordinated care for the whole family is part of every plan. Caregivers are given support and encouragement along the way.
There are many reasons children may need early intervention. Prematurity, a history of chronic ear infections, autism spectrum disorder, hearing loss, and developmental language delay are some reasons services are needed. It is our goal to work closely with caregivers to ensure they have the skills needed to address their child's individual needs to continue providing language rich activities in the home. We believe caregivers know their child best. Therefore they are an important part of the therapy process. Often a floor-play model, following the child's lead, and introducing gestures and baby signs are encouraged.

Tamara makes early intervention an enjoyable and a positive experience for children and their family. She shares fun, language rich and hands on activities to help caregivers get daily practice with their children. She works with young clients from multiple Bay Area preschools, the Regional Center of the East Bay, and Kaiser Permanente. Together with case managers, teachers, and other professionals, she discusses attainable and functional goals and celebrates when clients reach them! Her goal is to develop happy toddlers who can communicate more easily!
